Autumn is approaching and you will shortly be thinking of activities that you can become involved with for the year ahead. Singing in a choir is well known to be a wonderful activity for our health and is great fun both musically and socially. The Linton Singers are very fortunate to have Murray Campbell as their Conductor and he has a great skill in teaching our members a variety of new works. This coming year the main musical challenges for the choir will be some of our favourite pieces written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. We will be working on Mozart’s “Te Deum in C major”, his Solemn Vespers with the well known aria ‘Laudate Dominum’ and his magnificent “Coronation Mass in C major”. Our main performance MOZART AT SALZBURG will be on 18th April 2026 in the beautiful Canongate Kirk on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh when we will give our performance accompanied by an invited orchestra and four soloists. The choir have performed in this lovely venue on many occasions and it will be good to return. The choir will shortly be working towards music for their very popular Christmas Concert which is to be held in Carlops Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, 20th December 2025. Members pay a subscription of £40 per school term and music will be provided for singers who would like to join us. For any further information please email the choir secretary on info@lintonsingers.co.uk.
